For the past month I have been absolutely loving some particular make up products and of course some stationary! These products have been products that I just cannot tear myself away from. The makeup products that I have explained below have become a part of my daily routine and something that I cannot stop using for winter!
Sleek i-Devine Eyeshadow palette – Storm 578
This palette by Sleek is a new one that I bought only at the start of this month and the money was certainly worth it. I bought the palette for under $20 from Target. I didn’t have high expectations of this drug store palette, but the shadows are pigmented and look lovely on the eyelids. Most of the colours are easy to blend and give off a nice look that is not harsh or streaky. I did find that the black shade ‘blackout’ does not blend at all. When I tried to do a smoky eyeshadow look, the shade became blotchy and did not blend at all which was really disappointing.
This is a palette that I have been using for both day and night make up looks, for almost any occasion. With both a balance of natural and deeper shades, it is a palette for every occasion. This also makes it a great palette to take travelling as it gives you options for both those nights where you want to go for a darker, more dramatic look as well as those days where you are looking for a light, classic and natural look. The palette is structured really well, being thin and compact, however, my only suggestion is for the Sleek brand to begin printing the names of each shade on the actual palette instead of on a loose plastic piece which can easily get lost.
My top favourite shades from this palette Calm Before The Storm, Perfect Storm, Firestorm, and Dust Storm (Matte brown shade in the first row, the last three shadows in the top row and the first shadow on the second row).

NYX BB Beauty Balm – BBCR01 Nude
Recently I have been looking for a product that I can wear on its own that isn’t as heavy as my normal foundation. After wearing foundation for such a long period I wanted something that I could put on each morning quickly just to give a really light coverage and to even out my skin tone since I have only been going out for a quick trip to the shops or heading over to my boyfriends/friends. Well, after a lot of researching and searching I have found everything I wanted in NYX’s BB Beauty Balm.
This Beauty Balm has a really creamy texture that blends well into the skin and adds a nice light touch. Although it does not cover up my horrific dark circles, it does even out my skin tone and match really well with my usual concealer. This is an awesome travelling essential which I recently took away with me and it was perfect just for a little on the go coverage.
Burt’s Bees Lip Balm – Honey
This lip balm is my go to lip balm for all occasions. I apply it multiple times through the day, in particular every morning and every night. It is really smooth to apply and feels very buttery on the lips. It instantly feels really hydrating on the lips and it gives off a nice sheen look. The small compact stick has a ton of product in it! There is none of this ‘half-full’ packaging which I have seen with many other lip balms in this type of packaging.
One of the important factors to mention is that this lip balm is 100% natural and includes vitamin E. Vitamin E is really crucial in skin care products as it helps fight against skin cell damage, this can cause your lips in particular to become chapped and dry. Therefore, this lip balm is really good in both the sense that it is great at rehydrating your lips as well as preventing them from becoming chapped.
Although I only have a small amount of this product, it goes such a long way! Looking at my sample pack of this, the only way that you can really see that it has been used is from the dramatic fading on the front of the box.
After years of being hooked on the Benefit Hoola Bronzer, I have not picked it up since I began using this product! This amazing bronzer only gives a light dusting of colour on to the cheek bones of the face, and anywhere that you put the product. It’s easily buildable for a more defined look on those nights where you want something more dramatic and those cheek bones to really pop! I actually cannot wait until I finish this small packet and am able to buy the full product.
Kikki-K To-Do List
If you know anything about me, my two true loves of the world are stationary and make up! Oh.. and To-do Lists are a very close second in my hierarchy of loves! So, when I got given this To-Do list pad from my friend Alyssa, I was instantly in love! All I wanted to do was take out my pen right there and start writing my to-do lists on it (which could be quite sad considering we were out to lunch…).
This To-Do list pad has been my life saviour this year in making sure that I get everything done. I have tended to write my day’s to-do list the night before to ensure that I get everything off my chest and organised before I go to bed. This not only helps my mind rest (which helps me get to sleep easier), but it also helps me accomplish more in each day!
I think what makes this particular to-do list layout particularly good is the small ‘priorities’ part at the bottom left of the page. This is the part that I go to first each morning, to ensure that I get those things done. I tend to put people I need to call, blog things that I need to schedule, and things that I absolutely do not want to push to the next day in this section.
I tend to use the ‘For Later’ part as a section that I put things in that I would like to get done that day if I have time, but it is okay if I don’t get to these things and can push it to the next day.
Kikki-K Textured Leather Notebook
I was given this notebook for Christmas and It has become my absolutely favourite notebook in the world (and that is a bold statement since I own about 15 used and unused notebooks… It’s become an unhealthy addiction). I use this notebook to hold all of my blogging secrets in it, and it is one that I just love using! It’s such a pretty, heavy duty notebook that I had to go out and get a pencil case to match it!
The paper that comes with the book is nice and smooth to write on, and relatively thick, however one of my ink pens does go through the paper (but it goes through most papers anyways). It also comes with a pocket at the back of the book and three business card holders which are fabulous for on the go and keeping everything close by! The tight clasp on the right also never comes unbuttoned unless it is deliberately opened, which is really good as I have found so many notebooks have a really loose clasp and with my habit of shoving ideas written on scrap paper into the middle of the book, this clasp really ensures that they don’t fall out at all!
I am also able to use this notebook cover over and over again as it is one where you can replace the book in the middle with another in which they sell as a staple in all of their stores!
Kate Spade New York – Boxed Pen
Have you ever found a pen where you just absolutely love the feeling of it and want to write everything in it? Because that is me with this pen! I got given this pen as a gift from my grandfather and I absolutely love it! I use it as my blogging pen and the pen I use to learn short hand in.
The flow of the pen is absolutely beautiful, and I never get a cramp or pains in my fingers when writing with it, no matter how long I am writing with it in one period. It’s such a smooth pen that somehow makes my writing look better (is that a thing that can happen?)
The best part about this pen (aside from the sentimental value) is that I am able to use it forever since it takes standard pen refills! This is certainly a pen that I will be using until I’m 80!
